KurtA Posted July 9, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2008 Nice original WW2 era wings. Typically worn by enlistedmen. Kurt
ww2vault Posted July 9, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 9, 2008 Well the clutches appear to be post-WWII, (Would know better if you showed the front of them.) and the wing itself would have been worn generally by gunners and radiomen. I'm sure some one else could add more onto this. - Jeff
John Cooper Posted July 9, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 9, 2008 Hi - I would not worry about the clutches but focus instead on how the posts are attached. If you can post photos that show the details that would be super. If not just look to see if they are hand soldered. As for clutches I have some nice WW2 with that at some point lost their clutches and had them replace with a mis-matched set so no worries on that point. John BTW thanks for posting. pfrost Posted July 10, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2008 IMHO these are classic WWII "graduation pattern" wings from mid-late war period. No doubt in my mind, I have many of these wings. Very common. Patrick
