Harry E. Frank Posted December 17, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2014 I'm looking to purchase a patch from a flea marketer. But he won't sell it until he knows what it is. I'm sorry I can't provide an image.it's 3 inches across.thin green boarder ,red back ground, with yellow star.weasel or wolf with dough boy helmet red pants.sitting behind green Canon on sand bags.he's holding a spy glass..he has black fur and white(Mickey mouse )gloves and white feet.penned on the b's k side is"202 CA" the threads on the back are white. Worse comes to worse I'll get my grand daughter to teach me how to send a photo
Steve B. Posted December 17, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 17, 2014 The "202 CA" would lead me to believe that it's for the 202nd Coast Artillery but it is very difficult to identify with any certainty without photos of the front and back. Harry E. Frank Posted December 19, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted December 19, 2014 could it be disney 3? i hope this image will do. thank you bearman for your help.
disneydave Posted December 22, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2014 Yes, this is a Disney design created early in 1942 for Battery B, 202d Coast Artillery (anti-aircraft). I can't speak to the patch and whether or not it is authentic but I can confirm this is a Disney creation. Merry Christmas.

ocsfollowme Posted December 22, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 22, 2014 I agree with Doyler. A better scan (more blown up) of the back will tell for sure.

Harry E. Frank Posted December 26, 2014 Author Share #12 Posted December 26, 2014 Under black light the patch glows as bright as an over lit Christmas tree. I guess that means it's a good replica. Thanks for all your comments. I'll pass this info to the flea marketer. If he quotes a good price I'll go for it.IN the mean time, at family Christmas I talked. To my father in law. He was CO of one of the first huey cobra squadrons in Vietnam. He designed the 307 search and destroy company insignia . His name Charles F Hutchins,LtC ret US Arm y. I'm going to post in the Vietnam section as,well.
Harry E. Frank Posted December 30, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted December 30, 2014 Under a black light the patch glows bright, which I believe means that it is a replica. I've told the seller that I feel it is not original. He disagrees. I will be returning the patch to him. He plans to offer it at a patch show. I'll be disappointed if he sells it to the first person who calls it . Before I return it can anyone give an idea of the value of a nice replica? Thanks all. (For photo look at could it be...3)
vintageproductions Posted December 30, 2014 Share #14 Posted December 30, 2014 I have combined the numerous threads into one. This patch is a copy made in the 1980's.
