Phileah Posted December 4, 2018 Share #110 Posted December 4, 2018 My Schlueter was purchased around 40 years ago and came para rigged with a Viet period liner. It is marked 55 A, which I think is missing the third number after the 5's. It is rear seam.

Heat stamp 119A - OD3 - Flat Brass Buckle - Fixed bail -Stainless Steel..... Heat stamp 353A - OD7 - Flat Steel Buckle - Swivel bail - Manganese Steel.... I would definitely like a copy of the up to date spreadsheet... That would be awesome.. I gotta also say that you have great facebook and ebay accounts. I have seen several of the helmets that you have posted for sale on ebay. I am going to send you a message through facebook with my email address. Thanks man. @Grant G., here is one I picked up today! Pretty much a mint condition one, with heatlot number 352A.

Unfortunately no straps are present. Heres a pic of the number. The trick to Schlueter shells is the see where the S is centered. Example if you have a lot 54A, the S will be centered on the 4. While a lot 254A, the S will be centered between the 5 & 4. Good way to find missing numbers/letter. On your image it is a bit difficult to see, because it is a curved surface and you took the image from the side. Your S is not centered on the 7, but between the 7 & 0 (it’s a zero). You can just see the top of an A after that. Meaning your shell is a lot 470A. Fully consistent with being a rear seam and hinged loop. Schlueter lifts C and D are very rare. So far I have only seen them in the high 100s / low 200s and high 400s.
