Fritz Posted December 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2014 Picked this up today, pretty nice shape, the leather straps and a little dry but not stiff, dated phila depot 1912, any thoughts on style? Fritz
Fritz Posted December 6, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted December 6, 2014 They guy folded the flap and stitched it for some reason to make the flap shorter, I'll have to clip the stitches out. Fritz
warguy Posted December 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 6, 2014 Fritz, I am thinking what you have here is a blanket bag as opposed to the haversack but would love to hear from others, I have my copy of Equipping the Corps out, but unfortunately it doesn't have a good photo under the flap and the attachment on the earlier one shown is different. Once again though, if I was to wager, that is what this is. A nice one too by the way. Thanks for sharing, Kevin
Fritz Posted December 7, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted December 7, 2014 Thanks Kevin! I don't think this was used much if at all, only thing wrong is the flap being stitched which I'll get out. Any other examples out there? Fritz

Any other examples out there? Fritz Hi Fritz, Do you have an up close picture of the USMC stamp? I'm on my way to building a full set of P1912 gear, so if you're ever looking to dump this, I'm your man!
