Was given a number of uniform buttons and am having trouble IDing this one . Hope the pics will post. I think I managed to get right? dag Posted December 3, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 3, 2014 Appears the button has the "Waterbury Co's" backmark, dating it post World War II. Some of the earlier state buttons were worn by state guard/militia. That was mostly pre-1902. That was the time of the introduction of the current Great Seal of the US button that was "One style for all arms and all grades, private to Lt. General. The only exception is the Engineer Corps, ...". This was more likely worn by political types from that state, or state organizations of some type, or even civilian dress.
