I bet the "D" is a class "D" from unknown year.




I think you are right Brian. There are a few patches on that website that have large letters with no year designation training class.

I have that same D patch. It's German made, chain stitched, and uses the dagger design used by some F-102 units. I believe it could be related to the F-102 FIS units based in Germany in the 60s, but that's just a semi-educated guess. The did use flight patches, I have several.
