Aephillips Posted December 2, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2014 Found at a locate flea market. Trying to identify what patch was on the uniform. I think it may be a 11th airborne patch. It looks like there was a patch and a tab. Any ideas on what the patch may be would be greatly appreciated.

Sully Posted December 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 2, 2014 The 100th Infantry Division fits that shape but they were in Europe.
Sully Posted December 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2014 The Americal Division patch design also fits and seems more likely for the Pacific.
phantomfixer Posted December 22, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2014 What side was the patch on? right side would be the former unit assigned if chose to be worn by the vet..left side was the active unit....My grandpop was 36th ID WWII vet and transferred to the USAAF for discharge purposes...so his uniform has a 36th on the rt shoulder and his AC patch on the left... point being this jacket could have belonged to a vet serving in the ETO then transferred to a stateside unit due to being wounded or other circumstances...
