doyler Posted December 2, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2014 Came across this and purchased it.Medical Corps Flag/Guidon with star and branch emblem on maroon wool. There is a 1940 dated Quartermaster Corps tag sewn into the end opening.Im assuming the one star is a designation for Generals rank?

tsakers85 Posted December 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 2, 2014 Yes, a GO flag. I have one of these for an Ordnance officer. They're great flags, easy to display with wall mount poles.
oldabewla Posted December 2, 2014 Share #7 Posted December 2, 2014 Ron, I saw something posted here out of a book on shipping crate markings and colors ( pom) and when it came to the medical crates the red marking was for human use and the maroon medical color crate markings was for animals use. Pre WWII General's US veterinary medical corps flag? Now that would be a rare flag! Here is a WWI window hanger in the same color. Craig
tsakers85 Posted December 2, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 2, 2014 Maroon and white became the colors for all branches of the Medical Department in 1916.
oldabewla Posted December 2, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 2, 2014 Here is the information on the medical colors crates notice the British marking is the triangle for Veterinary and a cross from it is the maroon or brown medical symbol color for a Veterinary crate. The red color is human medical.
tsakers85 Posted December 2, 2014 Share #10 Posted December 2, 2014 Cool diagram, but this isn't solely a Veterinary Service Corps flag.
