kilgarvan Posted November 27, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2014 Hello All. I have many old, sentimental, and valuable paper related documents. I know acid free box is the way to go, but what about plastic sleeves in a binder for easier viewing, display, etc? For framing, I have done it between two pieces of glass. But that's for items I wanted to hang up. What are some ways others display letters, pictures, telegrams, etc? I guess what I'm getting at is how to protect the documents AND put them some how in a nice binder. Thanks!
siege1863 Posted November 27, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2014 For items you want to put in binders, be sure to use the sleeve protectors that are identified as archival safe. Most on the market now are, but there are some cheap brands that are not. I get mine at Wal-Mart. They are Avery brand and come in different quantities in a packet. Rakkasan187 Posted November 27, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2014 You can get archival type document protectors from hobby lobby, Michaels, or from any computer/office depot type stores. They have many different types.. The archival type 8 1/2 x11 document sleeve protectors I use are AVERY, they come 100 in a box and you can usually get them for about $10.00 per box. If you shop on amazon you may get them cheaper.. Leigh

MPage Posted November 29, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2014 This is what I use (they're archival-safe): http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/164659-pvc-sleeves-for-photographs-ephemera/&do=findComment&comment=1248103 They're good to use with documents or photos that are not a part of a group necessitating a binder.
