Scarecrow Posted November 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2014 Does anyone have an effective or at least decent way to remove glue from the backs of medal ribbons or patches. I acquired a medal grouping to a Korean War pilot but they have been glued to a black picture frame backing. It appears they were affixed using what is most likely Elmer's glue. Of course when you try to remove, a good portion of the black backing material comes off and is stuck to the back of the medal ribbons. Again any methods for glue removal? Any help greatly appreciated. Paul
doyler Posted November 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2014 Some have had success with warm water if its Elmers/water soluble. Possibly steaming it may work as well to loosen the glue then see if it will lift or peel off .This is less invasive as your not soaking the item.
