Backtheattack Posted November 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2014 Has anyone informations about this system. Because of the pics it seems there was a test somewhere. Think the pics show 2 different systems.
Backtheattack Posted November 22, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted November 22, 2014 I have only the pics, no test report or something else.
Garandomatic Posted November 22, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2014 I imagine it wasn't terribly successful... But dang... that's about the coolest thing I have ever seen... I wonder if it wasn't tried as a competitor to the M1 Carbine? I read about a wood stock, I think, and an longer mag, maybe longer barrel being an attempt that ultimately didn't go anywhere. Maybe this was along those lines?
ColtM1911 Posted November 22, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2014 That is very interesting. Hopefully, a forum member can find some info on this. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Demon lord Posted November 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2014 I've seen this system. When deployed can use the gun as a rifle. And ... that's all...!
Baron3-6 Posted November 22, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 22, 2014 About as cool and functional as the non-Airborne M1 Carbine holster....but I'd still like to take it to the range!
Patchcollector Posted November 22, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 22, 2014 The Military has tested out all sorts of gadgets and gizmos. This one probably did'nt get very far.Man that would have been a bear to carry, looks really uncomfortable to tote around with all that angular metal sticking out. Pretty cool though!
artu44 Posted December 9, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 9, 2014 Once in a while somone wakes up with a great idea. IMHO if want a light gun with a stock, take a carbine. M1 do it better.
El Bibliotecario Posted December 10, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 10, 2014 I once did a totally unscientific comparison between an Inglis Highpower with stock attached and a .357 S&W Model 27, firing both from a supported position at 100 yards. I found the revolver was a bit more accurate. This leads me to join the 'Interesting--yes. Practical--well, er,..." group.
