Love the “ Screwbirds” cruised with them during my time in the Navy.

Here is an old one.

VT-17 flew the Avenger in WW2. This patch design was in use between 1944-49. The squadron name was changed from VT-17 to VA-6B in early 1946. The patch design is painted carved wood.

This is one of the most visually appealing plaques I have seen. I remember when our CPO mess started presenting these and I always wanted one purely due to their aesthetic.

A couple of Coast Guard plaques.

First is from the United States Coast Guard Cutter Chautauqua. I like this one because I grew up near Lake Chautauqua in Western New York.

The second plaque is to LCDR Herbert J. Nuse, presented on his retirement after 30 years of service, from the Officers and Enlisted Personnel of the Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May New Jersey.

This last set of plaques were presented at various times in his career to Captain Howard Crosby. The "enhanced" photograph is attached to the back of the Commander Antisubmarine Warfare Force Pacific Fleet plaque. Maybe a congratulatory memento of his first command?

Nice Coastie plaque.

Chautauqua was the only cutter in the 14th District that didn't go to Vietnam

American sculptor Lawrence Tenney Stevens, (1896-1972) Volunteered for WWI service (Pvt. Lawrence T. Stevens, 469698. 11th Company, Coast Artillery Corps, A.E.F., shipped over on 7/15/1918 as a Chauffeur in the training detachment). He was quite a patriotic yet independent, private individual despite his international awards and fame in the 1920's and 30's. Many of his largest bronze sculptures in public parks and spaces he had melted down for the war effort and then again volunteered for the secret mission Project 19 sent to support the British and Commonwealth forces in North Africa, 1941. This is a bronze commemorative plaque made by Stevens for his fellow members of the Project 19 mission to Eritrea. It is made by Medallic Art co., a foundry which Stevens had knowledge of being a bronze sculptor and client.
