wawine Posted November 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2014 Is there a specific color code for the background color for the plates used on General Officer staff cars in the 40's and 50's? I have some documented plates with perfect documentation, but some have green backgrounds and some have black. Is there meaning to this or just random? Austin_Militaria Posted November 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2014 The only plates from the 40-50's I have seen, are always Red for Army and USMC. Blue for Air Force and USN.
wawine Posted November 21, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted November 21, 2014 These are two sets of Mark Clark 's 4 star plates so possibly UN from Korea. One set green one set black both with iron clad provenance from the disposal of his items at the Citadel in 1990.
