Storing old medals

Recommended Posts

I have recently taken up the interest in medal bars, most of the ones I currently own are WW1 German medal bars. I've been trying to figure out how to store them properly and what you guys do for your collections. Are there any good cases I can keep them in? Does anyone have any tips?

I have always used riker mounts and they seem to work great.

I use riker mounts with the foam removed and line them with velvet (not felt!). It looks good and is relatively acid free.

whatever you use do not keep them on any foam rubber, I have bought several collections where the medals and foam rubber reacted and stained the medals and lefts this funky crusty verdigris that would not come off!
