A bogus MAB radio skull cap

Hi,

 

Here's a fake MAB radio skull cap I purchased as original 'NOS' from ebay USMC dealer Stan Walcott. I had time to take a look at it closely only a couple months after it arrived, or I would have sent it back. This skull cap is cheap re-enactor quality and I would suggest not purchasing one unless it's very cheap and you need it as a 'filler' until finding an original as they are very rare. Stan is still selling them as originals on e-bay, so hopefully this warning is of some help to other members.

It will hold a place as originals are scarce, but don't be tricked into thinking it's original or waisting $50 on it like I did.

To be honest I sort of took a chance on this and I know several others who made the same mistake.

 

Just thought I'd share that these ones are definitely BAD.

 

Hope some originals surface someday!
