Airborne97 Posted November 3, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2014 Has anyone seen or put there hands on either of these? I've only seen them in " American Military Patch Guide" by Morgan & Thurman. Thanks in advance Earle

Martinjmpr Posted November 4, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 4, 2014 I was actually in the 19th SFG when they wore the candy stripes but I was never issued a beret as I was not airborne qualified at the time. I'm not sure where the 'candy stripers' got their candy stripes from, it may be that they just got a blue flash and cut the end off of it, and had it sewed onto the beret below the crest. By the time I got to a unit where I was issued a beret the candy stripe era was over. I don't remember seeing candy stripes being sold at the PX or Clothing Sales, ever. Airborne97 Posted November 9, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted November 9, 2014 Thanks...everyone that I have seen looks to be made by machine..most have a edge that would suggest that it wasn't cut from a flash
