Still trying to get the hang of this camera thing. Do you know for sure what this really is? Thanks, Dave

I believe the half wing with the star (post #71 and #79) is a Vietnamese Air Force cadet insignia.

a pair just sold on ebay #120198920612 I need to confirm the origin of these wings. Did they really come from Nash Kelvinator? A picture, or a ad would be best... Thanks Dave

Here are a couple Balfour Naval Aviator wings I've had around for awhile. The pin back is another of the earlier posted 1-A marked wings in 1/20th 10K GF from the early 1950's. The clutch back is, I'm sure, a WWII pair of wings. It's simply marked 1/20th 10K GF and BALFOUR. Clutch fasteners are flat face patented.

The H&H marked pin back wings belonged to Lt (JG) John R. Germ, USNR who flew TBM's during WWII. This is all the information I have found on him so far. The jewel encrusted USN "Fairy Pilot" wings were sent to his sister during WWII. They are simply marked Sterling on the back.

I started setting the WWII "Issue" or "Graduation" clutch back, sterling marked wings aside several years ago. I don't collect wings, but something about this type has always impressed me, with their simple, but bold wing pattern. As of a couple of years ago, the majority of these types were still in the $15 - $35 range, but recently, I have seen some go for crazy prices. These are what I have accumulated from vets, vets families and, in some cases, lots of insignia I have gambled on on eBay.

two pairs of Wosk Paramarine wings. The one on the card is marked sterling. The one in the box probably is but is wrapped in celophane. The box is marked 'sterling'

I know a lot of people always call these 20's or 30's vintage wing. My feeling is that they are rather flimsy for everyday wear, and I lean towards sweetheart wings myself.

These are some from my collection. The front is like yours, the back has "Alice and Jonnnie" on the back. Jonnie Cobb wasnt a pilot, but rather a mechanic. and his wife Alice put togther a nice scrap book. The photo shows her wearing the wings!
