Can someone tell me what date this NCO model 1902 sword may have been issued? I know Meyers stop making items in the mid to late seventies. Wondering if this was Vietnam Era or earlier.

I believe tis is a commissioned officer's sword.

Gil is quite right that this is the "Model 1902 Army Officer Saber" intended for all Army Officers except Chaplains. However, never say never as they are known to have been presented to US Army Chaplains and worn by senior NCOs.

Meyer primarily bought (sourced) from Carl Eickhorn in Solingen Germany. Your sword looks to be fairly early, at least pre-WWII from the configuration of the hilt. The Spartan trademark indicated a low cost sword.

Not sure if this dates anything, but the Spartan trade mark was applied for in 1955 and issued in 1956 to Meyer:

I never cease to be amazed and impressed by the knowledge and the amount of information gotten on this forum by asking one little question. I have registered to several forums but this is the best one for information on edged weapons. Keep up the good work everyone.

Thanks
