firefighter Posted February 6, 2016 Share #28 Posted February 6, 2016 Another one which is easy to date - 1960 to 1964 - 6" Japanese made USS SEA DEVIL (AGSS-400) Balao class commissioned in May 1944 - five WWII battle stars Redesignated Auxiliary Research Submarine (AGSS-400), 1 July 1960; Decommissioned, 17 February 1964 Great looking patch. The shield-shaped patch is by Ace Novelty and the rectangular patch appears Japanese-made as well. Triton was the first nuclear submarine to circumnavigate the globe submerged. I like SEAL. I was trying to figure out what the other character was. I found the patch on this site, http://www.navsource.org/archives/08/08315.htm .
