flashesandovals Posted October 12, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted October 12, 2014 No. It does look similar to the British Army's Berlin vehicle cammo, but it really has no connection. Dual-Tex was a US ARMY field test in the late 70's through early 80's in Germany, more specifically by the 2D ACR in their Border Patrol mission. The 4 colors are those that were also used in the MERDC scheme. If you google "dual-tex" you will find articles about how the US Military is testing a similar "digitalized" vehicle cammo again today. It has been more than 30 years ago, and now it is history repeating...
BEAST Posted October 12, 2014 Share #11 Posted October 12, 2014 When I first saw the photo of the jeep, I was really confused thinking you had painted some sort of modern scheme on an 80s jeep. I served in Germany in the late 80s and never heard of this camo pattern. I googled dual-tex and was kind of amazed at what I read. Thanks for the education! Backtheattack Posted October 13, 2014 Share #14 Posted October 13, 2014 Never noticed this camo, but now did some search and found another camo pic from the 2nd ACR at Bamberg/Germany. Looks great.
