Unusual Early USMC Officer EGA

Just received this today. I posted bad Ebay photos earlier but here are much better ones, and I'm still a little unsure on this one. Meyer marked, but I'm not used to seeing the vaulted eagle on this style. Normally I don't see a gap between the legs. Any info would be appreciated.

Bob, thanks! That looks just like it. If it helps at all I cleaned the back a bit and "MEYER METAL" is stamped on the anchor shaft, partially obscured by the rope. Pre-WWII? Not looking to sell but would be curious about value also. Thanks guys.

If you click that link, Bob Gee says there, "I believe this badge to be WWI vintage but acknowledge that it could be a bit later."

That is correct, Meyer Metal marks originate in the 20s
