juno-44 Posted October 8, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2014 Hi, Can someone tell me more about this badge which measures 21mm by 71mm and stamped SILVER on its back. When was it made and by who, could it be a W.W.2 private purchase or was it made made postwar? Regards, Michel
Dave Posted October 8, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2014 Looks silver colored to me vice gold...so it would be a postwar enlisted set...
Lee Ragan Posted October 8, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 8, 2014 Enlisted submariners during WWII wore a cloth dolphin insignia on the right sleeve. The silver metal badges came after WWII.
MikeK Posted October 8, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2014 Hardware looks US but it's interesting it's stamped SILVER rather than STERLING. Regards Mike

Dave Posted October 23, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 23, 2014 And this thread is exactly why we demand on people posting photos on our own servers rather than on outside photo hosting sites. The OP got his answer and pulled the photos... thus making what could have been a relatively informative thread about a relatively unusual "SILVER" marked set of enlisted dolphins, a completely worthless thread.
