AndrewA74 Posted July 4, 2008 Author Share #51 Posted July 4, 2008 the boonie cap s not so hard to find,i found mine in norway!!! and if you search on e bay there will always be some for sale. i forgot to take pictures of my boonie cap maybe next time. btw if you have a spare alice pack cover in chocolate desert il trade you for a pair of brand new nigth desert trousers size large regular. and here is a picture of my flack jackets, the woodland ones are the ones you need inside of your flack(pasgt) cover. cheers from ken Wait, do I need a camo one inside or the OD one inside? Maybe if I find another one... Andrew I wonder how that hat got to Norway.....
earlymb Posted July 4, 2008 Share #52 Posted July 4, 2008 Thanks for the pics. I didn't know that that it was a 2 part item. One more thing to look for. Is that your's?Andrew Yes, got it a fleamarket for a whopping $15.00 complete. Couldn't leave it behind for that price, so I decided to assemble a basic set for a 1991 Desert Storm GI as a time line piece. I also have an early PASGT kevlar helmet with desert cover, a booniehat and a pair of trousers but I still need a jacket and some LBE gear. I'm not really into this newer stuff, but if I come across it cheaply I'll usually buy some. I think you might be able to find such a vest for $40-50.00, but having it shipped may be expensive due to the weight. Try to get it locally. The OD one is an Vietnam-era M1969 vest (although they appeared as early as 1967) and is the predecessor of the PASGT vest. Look for an PASGT with 1980's date with Woodland camo, the M1969 is not correct for DS (although some may have still been in use at that time). Plus, I need one more canteen (The ones I had did not have the hole for the gas mask straw). Thanks. Andrew

AndrewA74 Posted July 13, 2008 Author Share #69 Posted July 13, 2008 What is that square box on your right thigh, and the square pouch on the port side of your buttpack? The square box hanging is the D-Con box (or something like that) and the pouch is the Personal First Aid Pack. Thanks for the pics! They do help. I have the kit, but the pack is covering it up. msgt norway Posted July 13, 2008 Share #71 Posted July 13, 2008 another trick to fill your alice pack are to fill it with crumbled newspapers just to make it bigger and its not heavy. i use it on many bags in my display instead of hiding cool gear in the alice pack. ken
