Unknown foreign hat, from Col. Moakley

This piece was brought to me a couple weeks ago by the same picker that I got the strange Korean made tanker from this summer, apparently he had not found it the first time he went on the house call. I was never able to find out much about Col. Moakley's career, it appears to span 1950's to post Vietnam, The seller thought it was vietnamese I am not sure, but i did want it as i figured it might add a piece to the career of the Col.

 

if anyone knows what this hat is it would be very helpful as I have not been able to ID it

I think it's Korean Marines Corps hat

Yep it's ROK Marines.Unsure though what the Bar below the eagle star and anchor is, a single Bar is the rank insignia for a ROK Marine Private, could then be a cap patch for a ROK Marine Pvt.
