Bob Hudson Posted September 28, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2014 These were brought back from the Korean War by a member of the 187th Inf. Div. (see http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/220729-rakkasan-veteran-grouping/ ) He wrote on both flags, listing the year and location where he got them. This North Korean flag was found at Kimpo Airport in Seoul in 1951.
Bob Hudson Posted September 28, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted September 28, 2014 The South Korean flag came from Inje in 1950:

Bob Hudson Posted September 28, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted September 28, 2014 Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I've seen and had lots of captured Japanese and German flags but this is the first time for something from the Korean War. it's especially cool that he wrote on them, providing great provenance. hirsca Posted September 28, 2014 Share #8 Posted September 28, 2014 Outstanding. A much overlook history of a war that was not recognized as much as it should be. Al.

Dogtown Posted October 14, 2014 Share #11 Posted October 14, 2014 Yes... agreed with the others here. Very nice flags - it's a shame Korean War stuff doesn't have the same draw as WW2 or Vietnam. Thanks for sharing them.
268th C.A. Posted January 15, 2015 Share #12 Posted January 15, 2015 That is neat! Hard to find Flag! N. Korean bring back. Dogtown above. I tell young collectors that is the War to collect. Over looked and usually less expensive. I pick up nice G.I. Dated K.W. stuff when its nice & priced right.
muddyboots Posted January 16, 2015 Share #13 Posted January 16, 2015 Great flags and store them well. North Korean flags are as rare as they get and can deteriorate easily. Sometimes I think they deteriorate worse than Japanese flags. I roll mine in acid free tissue paper and store them in acid free flag box.
