Robswashashore Posted September 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2014 A large model even in 1/72 -- C 46 Commando of the 81st Troop Carrier Squadron of Grenier Air Force Base in the mid 50's.

Gruntdoc Posted November 21, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 21, 2014 Is that the Williams Bros. model? How did you like it? I've always liked the Commando, it is so beautifully ugly, an my uncle flew them over the Hump during WW2. Nice build too, by the way.
Robswashashore Posted November 22, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted November 22, 2014 Do -- Thank you. It was the Williams kit -- a bit of a challenge, but the only one I could find in 1/72. My father was a meteorologist in the AAF during the war. He hated flying in the Commando -- I believe he had a misadventure in one in post liberation Paris. Agree about "beautiful ugly!" Proud Kraut Posted November 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2014 Looked at the pic again and noticed the NIKE (?) AA Missiles today. Did you've already posted them here? If not, could you post some pics and infos? Thanks & Regards Lars
