Earl Albert Peiffer No. 3292. Good Conduct for 2nd enlistment... Earl was my Great Uncle and I have his paperwork for USMC Good Conduct, War Service Letter and a photo. Unfortunately, I don't have the medal itself... Contact me if you come across that number, I suspect it is out there somewhere...

Thanks for posting your those great GCM's. I like the medals from 1950 and 1951 because you never know what you are going find when you do some research. A lot of those Marines thought they were going to get discharged and then got involuntarily extended because of Korea. I know we "stop lost" quite a few Marines for that reason during the First Gulf War.

Here is a Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal that I recently picked up.

Private First Class Isaac Watson Davis was Wounded In Action (WIA) on the Island of Guam in the Mariana Islands on Sunday, 23 July 1944 while serving with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, Third Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force.

Nice medal with an interesting background. Somehow the name sounds familiar. Was this medal recently sold on an auction site?

Here is the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with "Second Award" Bar to Roberta Jane (nee Fisk) Mayo. She married Auldin Troy Mayo on 20 September 1947 in Arlington, Virginia. The USMC muster rolls show her being awarded a GCM on 30 October 1947. The muster rolls for January 1948 show her named officially changed to Mayo on 15 January.

Front view of Mayo's GCM with bar.

This is only the seventh example of a Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal awarded to a Woman Marine that I have seen.

I really like the Edwards GCM. Okinawa Veteran and China Occupation can't get much better. Nice research.

Here is another Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal that found.

Great GCMs Bruce! I especially like the Valentino DeSisto medal. Not too many Marine WIA GCMs from the Korean War out there.

Here is another one I came across. This Marine had it made! He only served stateside and spent almost all of his service at USMC Air Station El Toro. His MOS was 658 (Link Trainer Instructor) and 283 (Recreation Specialist). Not a bad job at all if you think about what a lot of other Marines went through during the war!
