Rakkasan187 Posted September 19, 2014 Share #12 Posted September 19, 2014 Tyska, Your crate held 2 High Explosive 4.2 inch Mortar rounds with supplemental charges without fuzes.. 4.2 inch mortars were replace by 120 mm mortars back in the 90's..The 4.2 in mortar or also known as the "four duece mortar" were the biggest indirect mortars that infantry units had at the time. These go back to WW2. Your crate looks to be 1982... Matt, Your ammo crate held 2 90mm HEAT rounds which was used with the 90mm recoilless rifle... Leigh Below are links that shows the M67 90 mm recoilless rifle and a 4.2 inch mortar.. http://www.a-1-6.org/1-6th%20site/1st%20bn%206th%20inf%20web%20site%20off%20line/cdrecoilless.html http://www.a-1-6.org/1-6th%20site/1st%20bn%206th%20inf%20web%20site%20off%20line/cdmortars.html
