HAVE RUN ACROSS THIS. ITS A 2 3/4 IN' WING ONLY MARKED STERLING AND HAS A "B" UNDER THE PIN. IS THIS CONSIDERED A SWEETHEART PIN DUE TO ITS SIZE??

Didn't you run across this on ebay? Just wondering.

The seller wrote that the letter at the base of the pin is a "W" not a "B".

Number 48 in Duncan Campbell's Aviation Badges And Insignia Of The United States Army 1913-1946. If you don not have a copy.....please do yourself a favor and obtain one.

This badge could be good........or it could be bad, it has a long history of being struck (I believe the dies are still around and rest with a well known faker). The pictures are rather "muddy" but it appears that the dies may be showing some wear. Oh yes!! The fakers love to market with BB & B. among other makers.

I have had several of these.......from legitimate sources.....it's a light little badge but appears to have been popular with the "between the wars pilots".....maybe even a grad wing.

Right now there is a softbound edition of Mr. Campbell's wing badge book on eBay with a Buy-It-Now price of only $19.95.
