triplecanopy Posted September 18, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 18, 2014 Here are a few Master Parachutist badges (along with the basic and senior) that I've collected over the years. Still missing a few to complete some sets. The Master Parachutist Badge is one of the most attractive and meaningful badges ever designed. I am also proud to be one of the recipients of this award. Congrats to Matt for 20 years as a Master Blaster.
Tonomachi Posted September 18, 2014 Share #11 Posted September 18, 2014 Here are a few from my collection. This I purchased recently off of eBay having been looking for one for quite some time now as they are hard to come by. This is a SVN made sand casting Master Paratrooper Wing. You come across the basic every now and then with the senior on a rare occasion but I've only ever come across a master wing once probably going on 30 years now. Tonomachi Posted September 18, 2014 Share #12 Posted September 18, 2014 Here are two that I purchased some 30 years ago when you could find these types of wings for between 25 to 40 dollars. I believe the stars are original to the wings as they didn't cost much and this was before unscrupulous people were adding things to wings to increase their asking price. Tonomachi Posted September 18, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 18, 2014 Here is one that appears to have been manufactured with a gold wash and not added afterwards. It looks well worn and over the years there are two theories about this gold wing. The first theory was that it is a "Century" wing meaning someone who has jumped over 100 times and the second theory was that it was plated with a gold wash as a retirement piece. Anyone know for sure?

Tonomachi Posted September 18, 2014 Share #15 Posted September 18, 2014 Here are three bullion pieces that I believe are all US Air Force dress Master Paratrooper Wings.
Tonomachi Posted September 18, 2014 Share #16 Posted September 18, 2014 Lastly some theater made cloth Master Paratrooper Wings. It is interesting that the two on the right are both SVN made Basic Paratrooper Wings where the star and wreath have been added afterwards by probably tailors as they are very different with one being reinforced. triplecanopy Posted September 19, 2014 Share #17 Posted September 19, 2014 It is always a real pleasure to see the almost endless variations of parachute badges. Thank you Tonomachi!
