Marksman Posted September 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2014 Hello all, a few month ago i got a nice pre WW1 Picture of the German Habor of Kiel. I saw a US Navy Vessel there but i dont know which ship it is. Maybe someone can help me. One problem is i dont have a date for the Drawing - but all the ships looks pre WW1 Greetings Stefan
Wharfmaster Posted September 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 12, 2014 Stefan. Probably the US Fleet visit to Kiel in 1903. Regards, W
Rogi Posted September 12, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2014 To me it looks very close to a Montgomery Class Cruiser, but it has features of the San Francisco (1888-1889 production) I'd call it a San Francisco if it wasn't for the San Fran having 3 masts, while your ship has 2 Sorry I can't help to find the exact vessel, I'm not a ship guy myself hehehe more aircraft but hope that helped a bit
