USMC Good Conduct Mounting Question

How were earlier USMC Good Conduct medals bar mounted? The version with the "U.S. MARINE CORPS" bar at the top of the ribbon drape seems to make bar mounting a bit awkward (especially if overlapped).

Does anyone know or have examples?

Here is a mounted USMC bar I have. The recipient is a career marine Harry Davis. The GC is dated 1943. The Good Conduct bar is removed from the medal for mounting then pinned back on the bar.

Garth - thanks very much. (I guess I didn't realize the bar was pinned on and thought the ribbon threaded through it.)

Would love to see other examples if anyone has any.

A stand alone GC will have the ribbon running through the bar. For mounting the bar would separated from the ribbon then pinned on the completed bar. The first type Coast Guard Good Conduct medals have a similar top bar and are done the same way when mounted as a group.

And I assume if it is in the middle of the bar it is done the same way, aligned with the GCM ribbon and overlapping the higher medal ribbon?

That would be right.
