BEAST Posted September 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2014 I don't believe this has been posted before, but the International Committee of the Red Cross has established a free database. This database contains the data from the original index cards made on the prisoners from ALL of the belligerents. You can search by name and filter by nationality. When I tried to search for Americans, I had very few results. Searching further, I found a message stating that they are still adding files through 2014, mostly by nation. At any rate, I think this will be a useful tool in the future for all WWI collectors. Hopefully something similar will be done for WWII and other war POWs. The website for the database is: http://grandeguerre.icrc.org
KASTAUFFER Posted September 10, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2014 This is awesome! Can't wait until they add the Americans to it. Kurt
