SFMike Posted September 10, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 10, 2014 Friend of mine rode recon and dispatch in N Africa. He hated the job and the bikes. They had half tracks with 75 mms an AT guns and he hated tham even more. He ended up in Italy in 6 wheeled Armored cars which he liked better. He got a silver star holding off a lot of Germans from a Disabled vehicle.

oldabewla Posted September 11, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 11, 2014 Johan, These would make great prints to hang on the wall!!! the black & white (WOW) I never see any quality photograph prints of WLA in service or action and Harley should get their crap together and do stuff like this. hbtcoveralls Posted September 12, 2014 Share #14 Posted September 12, 2014 HI Johan, I was there at Tanks in Town and I think we counted a total of 28 WLAs and one Indian 741 at the event. Tom Bowers
Johan Willaert Posted September 12, 2014 Author Share #15 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi Tom, I searched Mons market square for you as Laurent told me he had seen you, but couldn't find you... Hope you had a great time!! Johan
hbtcoveralls Posted September 12, 2014 Share #16 Posted September 12, 2014 Johan, it would have been great to finally meet, especially since I was there with Robin M who is very well known in Indian military motorcycle circles. I really think that, with the exception of the WWII Veterans, the motorcycles were the stars of the show at Mons. Tom Bowers
