Calvin Hall Posted September 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2014 Acquired this small grouping from a distant relative of the veteran. Group includes PH, AM, GC, wings, photos, discharge paperwork, and Flying Tigers certificate.

Kadet Posted September 7, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 7, 2014 That is very nice, period engraving but it is not "official" per se. It was either unit or privately done. I've seen this style before though, and tend to think the former....

Dave Posted September 7, 2014 Share #11 Posted September 7, 2014 Interesting that he's listed on his discharge paper with no wounds, but there's a PH in the group. Perhaps he applied for it later, and it was approved for an injury sustained during the war he was never credited with. It's a pretty cool group to someone who served in the 1944-45 time period in China - that photo with the Chinese emblem on the Mitchell is killer! 501stGeronimo Posted September 7, 2014 Share #12 Posted September 7, 2014 Nice grouping, but not wanting to burst your bubble Daniel, but this IS NOT a early war group. He went into active in 43.
