bbmilitaria Posted April 28, 2022 #26 Posted April 28, 2022 Great thread. Here's a few I have laying around that were always "unidentified".
Andrew Posted July 29, 2022 #31 Posted July 29, 2022 For the record, here are three examples from my collection:
Boy Howdy Posted September 29, 2022 #32 Posted September 29, 2022 I bought a pair of them from SARCO. It will hold a single AR/AK mag in each pouch and I was able to get 3 M-9 mags in the small pouch on the front. Which cleaning rod was meant to go in the pouch on the back? All the straps are unfinished cotton . It is actually a dark O.D. The lighting makes it look more khaki. Any opinions as to authenticity would be greatly appreciated. BH
Boy Howdy Posted October 2, 2022 #33 Posted October 2, 2022 Here's a picture of a DELTA operator carrying a M-3 grease gun and a CISO ammo pouch. Operation Eagle Claw, 1980
Boy Howdy Posted October 2, 2022 #34 Posted October 2, 2022 https://kommandopost.com/2022/07/02/ciso-indigenous-pouches-1960s-1980s/ Interesting article about these pouches. WITH PICTURES! 😀
Boy Howdy Posted October 10, 2022 #35 Posted October 10, 2022 Here's pictures of the reproduction frog skin version SARCO is selling. Material appears to be HBT to me. It has a good feel.

BH After some concerns about the "cheapness" of their construction I contacted SARCO. They admitted, in so many words, that these, too, are reproductions. They refunded my money and paid return shipping.
DesertBill Posted April 3, 2024 #37 Posted April 3, 2024 Here's mine I never knew quite what it was until this thread. Thanks, everyone! -Bill
immurement Posted November 14, 2024 #39 Posted November 14, 2024 This is such a great thread I thought it would be nice to add in this other pouch about which little is known. Photos of well known SOG operators Shriver and Bolen using them below (other photos of this pouch do exist). It features two female lift-the-dot style snaps which allow for the height of the pouch to be adjusted to allow for the carry of a variety of magazines for platforms including the Swedish K, M3, AK etc. While I know some copies were offered in the past does anyone have an original? Were the lift-the-dot snaps labeled at all? Was this an item offered by CISO? Has anyone ever seen photographic evidence to indicate this pouch was used outside of SOG?
