ChrisNZ Posted September 4, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2014 I have decided to put together a WW1 US Impression for reenacting, I've bought a few books and looked online but info on US stuff is a little tricky, I have purchased a reproduction 1912 Summer uniform, I've been trying to find reference pictures on the correct way to wear insignia but have come up a bit short, I would also like to know if it is ok to use wool rank chevrons as they are the only reproduction WW1 chevrons I can find, any help appreciated. americankraut Posted September 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2014 Summer uniform would be the 1910. I am pretty sure insignia was mainly wool or felt unless private purchased with silk or bullion. PFC's did not usually have any insignia worn in Europe 1917-1918. Cpl or Sgt would have one set of stripes on the right shoulder. The cotton uniform was not utilized too much in europe. This site is helpful, get an idea of what you want to potray before you spend too much. - http://www.hardscrabblefarm.com/80th/index.htm
