Tonomachi Posted February 23, 2020 Share #176 Posted February 23, 2020 I saw a strange looking USMC woodland pattern camouflage BDU shirt today at the flea market. It has a different cut along the collar and instead of buttons utilize vertically sewn rectangular Velcro tabs for closure. The labels inside are all worn out and hard to read. Is this some sort of paintball BDU copy?

Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 26, 2020 Share #178 Posted February 26, 2020 It's legit, but it's been modified. I can see a button hole in your picture, and the 4 dots pattern from where a button was stitched. The velcro is attached with black thread which is different than all of the rest because it was done after it was manufactured. The collar is different because this is an early BDU with a 1981 contract. This style of collar is nicknamed "elvis collar" by collectors.
Unicorn Posted July 10, 2020 Share #179 Posted July 10, 2020 Those are the old school fly away collars. Left overs from the 1970s and the huge collars that were on most shirts and coats back then. Even some of the three color desert BDUs had those. In the 90s.
917601 Posted July 10, 2020 Share #180 Posted July 10, 2020 My BDU and helmet I wore with the 82nd in 77-78. I Rambo'd it up a bit with some ball and AP belts I loaded up, smoke, incendiary, and frags, machete, bayonet, etc...
Sam Brasco Posted July 11, 2020 Share #181 Posted July 11, 2020 Maybe one can help to identify the patches on this one? Love to wear it… Hopefully I'm not stepping on anyones foot by doing so?
treesuit Posted July 12, 2020 Share #182 Posted July 12, 2020 Patch belongs to the 300th Military Police Brigade. Does the other shoulder have a patch, we can't see in the photo.
Sam Brasco Posted July 12, 2020 Share #183 Posted July 12, 2020 Thanks. The other shoulder is unpatched with no stitch marks. Do the patches on the collar have a special meaning?
mrrm Posted July 12, 2020 Share #184 Posted July 12, 2020 The small collar patches are sewn on Specialist 4 rank.
Harvs73 Posted October 17, 2020 Share #185 Posted October 17, 2020 Several years ago I was given a box of various uniforms including some BDU. The box included these two shirts with pants and a set of BDU overalls.
ejr13 Posted January 29 Share #186 Posted January 29 I bought this just before I got out of the army and wore it once maybe. I was just your average 11B and served one 3 year enlistment.
