Great photo right! From the 1951 reunion, a reunion that had a lot of members missing I'm gathering. why? Because a load of vets, to include those who were in the 3rd Armd Div were back on active duty, recalled because of the Korean War,, fighting actually in Korea, or serving in other places Army Wide.

Also, note NO SPEARHEAD tab under patch.

The Hell For Leather patch Large as Life, painted on a placard, affixed on a damaged building on the outskirts of Hue, Feb 68. Soldiers I believe are of the 5th Bn 7th Cav.

The Flag of the Army Ground Forces of WWII, the officer is it's one time commander Leslie McNair, and we all know who he is.

McNair again, this time with Bradley when Brad was CO of the 82nd Division.

The introduction of the flag of the Army Reserve's 377th Support Brigade, this photo as we see is from the January 1968 issue of The Army Reserve Magazine, But the actual photo probably dates to sometime after May 1966, as the shoulder sleeve insignia for this unit was approved in May 1966, that's unless new units received their flags months and months after their new patch was adopted, but that wouldn't sound right, right?

A sign from the Vietnam War. Once again we see shoulder patches for army units that have AIRBORNE tabs (the 82nd Abn and SF) depicted in this period, WITHOUT the tabs, I wonder what was up with that.

And The Cav, which would by the location, the A Shau Valley (Operation Delaware, 1st Cav Div and the 101st Abn Div) date from April-May 1968.

Beerdragon, that patch is the Army Ground Forces patch, though by the time this sign was put out it was redesignated, and would, depending on the date of sign would of been either U.S. Army Field Forces (1948-1955) or Continental Army Command or better known as it was abbreviated,, CONARC (1955-1973).

One more Screaming Eagles patch on a chopper, this time on the bubble of a OH13 Sioux 1964-65 at Ft Campbell, so we see the habit of applying the patch on divisional helicopters go back a bit before Vietnam. The chopper is actually assigned to the 101's DIVARTY, uncertain if there was just the one, you know, the DIVARTY commander's bird, or there were more, like a section within DIVARTY.

Some more for tohight.

This is around the mid 60s 64-65, trainees showing up after being kicked off the bus .

Interesting that the Armor patches on the sign have no tabs under them, the school types or the Center type, thus I suspect this is an old sign from the early 50s that was just left in situ,
