Good find on the patch and tab on the signage, however the officer looks like he's wearing the 11th Airborne Division patch no?

He is indeed. The article was on the 100th training with the 11th. It was supposed to go in the SSI thread as well but got missed.

And the Blanket Patch on the nose of a Huey with some kind of device on the diagonal bar, cant make out what that is, could be letters, a motto, thats blured in the photo, photo from 1970. The Grunts I believe are of the 1st of the 8th Cav, but Aviation Battalion unknown.

A July 1974 photo on the back cover of the October 1975 issue of SOLDIERS magazine, sporting Red Diamond Patch and Red Devil imagery, a building in the A/O of the reactivated 5th Infantry Division's 1st Brigade at Ft Polk Louisiana.

Master Sergeant Jack Clapp works on signs for the 45th Infantry Division Association meeting in 1959. MSgt. Clapp is wearing the 1920s to 1946 45th Infantry Division DUI on his epaulets. He retired as a Sergeant Major after serving in WWII and Korea, providing substantial amounts of art and memorabilia to the 45th ID museum according to his 1987 obit. In 1965 he was one of 77 Oklahoma Guardsmen on active duty who had been called up with the division on Sept. 16, 1940.

1981-1983. I can look for sure in a few hours and edit it in here.

To conform with administrative guidance for the forum I didn't notice until signing out: All of these images come from Army Reserve Magazine, issues from 1979 to 1984 in this batch. The magazine did not typically cite photographers in their captions, presumably they were Army Reserve themselves.

Or I can't edit it because too much time has passed.

Spring 1980 issue of Army Reserve Magazine. In the photo is SP5 Mary Moores.

A Twofer from the 2nd Inf Div at Ft Benning Georgia 1961.

The first up is this gorgeous mosaic of the Indianhead Division patch in front of the divisional HQ building, of note too is the sign in the background on the wall, note too it has shoulder patches, shoulder patches of all the divisions that occupied the building in the past. Hard to see in the scan, but these will be the 2nd Armd Div, 12th Armd Div or 13th Armd Div?? (don't see when these two were at Benning), 71st Inf Div, 85th Inf Div, 4th Inf Div, 47th Inf Div, 3rd Inf Div, 10th Inf Div, and the then current 2nd Inf Div.

And unit signage for the division, you will note that none of these infantry units are traditional to the Indianhead Division, these are those Pentomic CARS Battle Groups that were assigned willy nilly to divisions in the 57-63 period, most in any one division, not traditional to them.

Banner hanging from a building in New York City during the 1936 American Legion convention. Note the early versions of the 45th Infantry Division, Fifth Army and Sixth Army SSI's.
