And here it is way back in June 1943, we have to imagine that over the long long years it has to have been lovely retouched many many times.  Also note that today the Boulder has sunk quite a bit into the ground from when it was then during the war.

This is so cool.  I recently finished and presented a Flag Box to the family of an Army Nurse who served there in 44-46.

She passed this year at 101.

The 542nd Parachute Infantry Regiment was a regiment of the US Army during the World War II. Originally formed as a fully fledged regiment, the unit was later downsized to a battalion and kept in reserve in the United States until mid-1945 when it was deactivated.
