Here's an odd one. The sign was located at Camp Carter, the headquarters for Company P 75th Infantry, the LRRP unit assigned to the 1st Brigade 5th Infantry Division in Vietnam. As the photo states, Camp Carter was located at Quang Tri, which was in the very northernmost part of of I Corps in South Vietnam, only a few miles from the DMZ.

The sign shows the SSI of the 5th Infantry division with an AIRBORNE tab on the right.

But notice that on the left it also shows the SSI of II Field Force Vietnam with an AIRBORNE tab. IIFFV was a corps level headquarters that commanded Army units in the III and IV Corps Tactical Zones of South Vietnam, the area around Saigon down to the Mekong Delta, and hundreds of miles from Quang Tri.

Thanks D. A mural then, wow it looks very Art Deco, very 20s 30s, like some I've seen on the walls of Rockefeller Center or in the Chrysler Building here in Manhattan.

Jimmy standing in front of it, here we get a good view of this 8th AF mural.

Here are a few examples from the "Red Circle News" issued from July 1945 to Feb. 1946 in Germany. There are A LOT of examples of the 71st patch being used on just about everything you can imagine!

What's the story on this, this is a presumably a 1985 photo taken at Fort Drum, but the Banner says 10th Infantry Division and the patches have no Mountain Tab.
