A Sign from the 40th Infantry Division in Korea in 1952 that displays it Korean War adopted shoulder patch, The Ball of Fire, but curiously omits the BALL OF FIRE Tab that was worn with it.

The photo captions reads as follows: Major General Raymond Odinero, left, the 4th Infantry Division Commander, gives the commissioning oath to Captain Heidi Potter, the 506th Air Expeditionary Group (AEG), Protocol Officer at Kirkuk Air Base (AB), Iraq, during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM"

I'm not sure of the significance of the AIRBORNE tab with the 4th ID SSI. Maybe the HQ of a LRRP unit?

My father on the right - served with C/1/38th Infantry, 2nd ID and was selected to be on the 10th Corps Honor Guard in Korea 1951.

The Americal patch on the nose of the Divisional Commander's C&C Bird, the Chopper crashed on 16 November 1968 with all aboard, at this time commander was Maj Gen Charles Gettys. Don't know if it was shot down or had mechanical problems, but that's Colin Powell, then Major and Americal Divisional G-3 standing there off to the side, he was riding in it when it went down, and once on the ground, despite being hurt himself, rescued three of the crew and or fellow passengers that were apparently all injured, to include Gettys.

V Corps on the door of an Huey in 1967, 66th Avn Co. It's a early version with the full color markings as seen in the early 60s, perhaps UH 1A UH1B or a UH 1C, we guess Avn units outside South Vietnam used the early Hueys a lot longer, the new Hueys IE the UH 1D UH 1H reserved for service in South Vietnam.

Early 1968. Full color Americal Division shoulder patch, with a Full Color 11th Infantry Brigade on the cap, with what appears to be a Americal Mini Patch too, his name is Robert R.Huff, Pfc, Signal Corps, Commo Platoon HHC 11th Infantry Brigade, KIA May 29 1968, Mortar Fire

The Arkansas NG's 39th Infantry Brigade, in the Sinai we think right, in 2001 because of the United-Nations-UN-Peacekeeper-Multinational-Force insignia on the sign too, in addition these two seem to be wearing the United-Nations-UN-Peacekeeper-Multinational-Force patch on their hats, hats are not familiar to me, some kind of dark cloth wide brim ones.

2nd Army and Armor Forces at Fort Knox Kentucky in the early 60s, one of what must been a couple or more signs around the post's Reception area. Again no TAB under Armor Triangle.

U.S. Army Central patch featured on a podium, yes that's what the old 3rd Army is called today. Photo taken at the unit's HQ which is oddly located on an Air Force Base, Shaw Air Base South Carolina. That's the new C.O. Ltg Ronald Clark this this past August.
