TLHorstead Posted August 18, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 18, 2014 Sorry it's not Navy it's the WWII version of the 326th Fighter Squadron (also known as the "Skywolves") The Squadron was based at Santa Rosa AAF in the San Franisco area, I think they were flying P-40 Warhawks at the time, The 326th was my first assigned Squadron in 1966 after basic training, It was a short assignment as we disbanded the squadron in Jan 1967. We were flying the Convair F-102 Dagger at Richards-Gebaur AFB near Kansas City. Attached are the first and the last versions of the Squadron Insignia The Background on the patches on the wall of the ready room were yellow. Patchcollector Posted August 20, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 20, 2014 Would this patch be of WW2 era manufacture?I ask because I have a similarly constructed one(different unit) and I was told that it was Japanese made during the 60's or 70's by a company that produced them for collectors. Johnny Signor Posted August 20, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 20, 2014 It's possible as the background was supposed to be a light yellow on the original WW2 description , the Life magazine emblem prints has the emblem and it has a light yellow round background
PennsyPatcher Posted August 28, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted August 28, 2014 Thanks. Saw the initial replies, but just saw the "yellow" issue. Had to revise the EBay listing I made this evening. The wealth of knowledge on this site is impressive. Thanks
