SLYDOG63 Posted August 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2014 Has Waterbury buttons #09504 and red piping on shoulder flaps. Piping on cuffs looks like a large cheveron. Thank you for your help.
teufelhunde.ret Posted August 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2014 Not USMC dress blues and do not look like anything I've seen on a Sailor. Costume perhaps?
Dave Posted August 11, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 11, 2014 Looks like a civilian military school cadet uniform...or police...
jeff arthur Posted August 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2014 From the cut of the jacket,I would suggest probably a police dress uniform, not military.
GIl Sanow Posted August 11, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 11, 2014 Assuming the buttons are Army, this MAY be an experimental pattern they tried out in the early '50's. I have one very similar. What are the labels like? G
SLYDOG63 Posted August 11, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted August 11, 2014 These were part of a uniform group belonging to a WWII USN Commander, who served in the Supply Corps. The pants are royal blue with red stripe down the sides. It is very light, but his name is on the tag.
sigsaye Posted August 11, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 11, 2014 Well, it's not Navy. Possibly a fraternal organization
VMI88 Posted August 14, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 14, 2014 I would guess military school. What pattern buttons are on it?
SLYDOG63 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted August 16, 2014 I would guess military school. What pattern buttons are on it? I have just recently found out that he was involved with ROTC. If you add in that his name is on the pants tag, could this be an early ROTC uniform ?? The buttons are Waterbury #09504 Thanks, Sy

SLYDOG63 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted August 17, 2014 Conn. Governors Foot Guard http://www.governorsfootguard.com/gallery/main.php/v/20140331/DSC_5348.jpg.html The jacket is kind of close and the pants are very close, but this officer never lived in Conn.. Also, the shoulder flaps do not have any red piping and the red piping on the jacket cuffs is shaped like a chevron, not just round. Thank you for your interest. Dakota Posted August 17, 2014 Share #12 Posted August 17, 2014 Interesting uniform. Looks almost like a combination of USMC Dress Blues and US Army ASUs
