Has Waterbury buttons #09504 and red piping on shoulder flaps. Piping on cuffs looks like a large cheveron. Thank you for your help.

Assuming the buttons are Army, this MAY be an experimental pattern they tried out in the early '50's. I have one very similar. What are the labels like?

These were part of a uniform group belonging to a WWII USN Commander, who served in the Supply Corps. The pants are royal blue with red stripe down the sides. It is very light, but his name is on the tag.

I would guess military school. What pattern buttons are on it?

I have just recently found out that he was involved with ROTC. If you add in that his name is on the pants tag, could this be an early ROTC uniform ??

The buttons are Waterbury #09504 Thanks, Sy

The jacket is kind of close and the pants are very close, but this officer never lived in Conn.. Also, the shoulder flaps do not have any red piping and the red piping on the jacket cuffs is shaped like a chevron, not just round. Thank you for your interest.
