Austin_Militaria Posted August 9, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 9, 2014 Wow. That has to be one of the most unusual field pieces I have seen. Is it dated?

dmert66 Posted August 10, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted August 10, 2014 Picked it up Friday and haven't had a chance to go over it for dates yet. A little research I did suggest they were made in the 30's by Etsy, but then started making them for the military during the war. I've seen some re-enactors chaplain impressions with them. The couple I bought it from said its been sitting in their parents house for years and they got tired of moving it, but had no other history on it. Chap15 Posted August 11, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 11, 2014 It appears that you have a WWII era organ. The condition looks good although refurbished at places. To find the date you will need to find the serial number. It could be on the back but most likely under the top. This will require that you take the lid off. Here is a link to the serial number dates. http://eccs.onu.edu/~estell/organs/serialnumbers.html
dmert66 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks Chap15. I found an Etsy tag with the number on it, which dates it to 1928.
