HoovieDude Posted December 11, 2025 #2227 Posted December 11, 2025 Hey Goose, I was on a SPiTT, March 05- March 06. We were actually TRADOC, in AC/RC stationed at Hood, started sending guys over in late 04. But they went to MiTT’s. My wave seemed to have been mostly MoI. We started off in Bagdad, but rotated out with a sister team to Samarra. And the DCU’s, I think I had one pair that were ‘t modified, saved that for when I knew the modifieds would cause outsider brains to explode. Sometimes…..lol
mysteriousoozlefinch Posted January 13 #2228 Posted January 13 Not exactly stacking them up, but here are some DCU items from the last few months. Transportation Corps Lieutenant Colonel's uniform with some interesting features. The 1st COSCOM patch and airborne tab are theater-made for one. The branch tape is also a very rough woven type, although the EIB, jump wings, and Air Assault Badge are standard. I've been looking for, not that they're terribly rare, a current assignment Military Traffic Management Command/Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command DCU for a while. It's a 1990 American Apparel contract. USAF intelligence officer on the USCENTAF staff. Prior-service army enlisted. Weapons School Graduate patch. DCU with Combat Action Badge that belonged to a member of C/212th Signal Battalion from the Arkansas National Guard, attached to the 155th Armored Brigade during their December 2004-January 2006 deployment. Despite deploying with the 155th, they apparently wore their JFHQ Arkansas shoulder patch in Iraq. The brigade also had 1/172nd Armor from the Vermont National Guard attached. 2003 contract date. Photo of the company commander for reference. A fully trimmed 2003 contract boonie with all the trimmings, V Corps and Multi-National Corps-Iraq on opposite sides, name tape on the back.
Beveaux Posted January 31 #2229 Posted January 31 82nd Airborne Division Staff Sergeant's DBDU with a Master Parachutist Badge and theater made nametapes that I got back in 2015. This one used to have a flag patch sewn onto the right sleeve that was removed at some point. Made by American Apparel-1990 contract date. Same uniform included alongside a desert night camouflage parka made by Selma Apparel Corporation (1983 contract date) since I like how these two patterns look together.
mysteriousoozlefinch Posted February 1 #2230 Posted February 1 Another Virginia National Guard DCU. This one is, I think, somewhat rare. About 25 personnel from the 54th Field Artillery Brigade HQ were deployed to Afghanistan as a mobile liaison team based out of Kabul in 2004-2005, which was the brigade's only deployment during the DCU era as far as I can tell. They became the 329th Regional Support Group in 2008. It's a 2003 American Power Source contract.
Ewart Posted April 20 #2232 Posted April 20 That's an unusual modification. I've never seen the trouser pocket used on a top before.
easterneagle87 Posted April 23 #2233 Posted April 23 Thrift store find today. Named double patched, Med-Reg size. Patched: Civil Affairs/Psyops on left shoulder, 1st Armored Division on the right shoulder. I needed a good DCU to pin my gathered DCU patches to. Glad I got a decent example for the base.

DD937 Posted April 29 #2235 Posted April 29 I have been inventorying my collection and when I got to the DCU uniforms at least the ones I know were worn in Afganistan I noticed what seems to be laundry numbers. I have not been able to do a deep search of this thread so I am asking if this has been addressed before?
