Here is a DCU-BDU grouping that I got from a fellow member of this forum.

Capt Paul Leo Larson

173rd Airborne Brigade

Chalk 1, Operation Northern Delay

Bashur Drop Zone, Northern Iraq

24th March 2003

Awarded Bronze Star Combat Parachutist Badge: For participation in a parachute assault landing into enemy controlled territory.

Information and pre-jump photo from http://www.173rdairborne.com/menu.htm

Capt Larson is on the right. Capt Hughes also of Chalk 1 is on the left. This photo was taken on the flight line on the day of the jump.

Hey Jim,

thats funny thumbsup.gif

Did they all have combat patches?

Were they the in-country type like the ones on this uniform?

The trousers with this set had a helmet band sized name tape on them.

I believe 2 out of the 3 sets had combat patches, and all the pants had the same small name tapes. I purchased them back-in the beginning of 2005. In his description he said that he used them in OIF in 2005 & one had some small burn marks where a friend had accidently caught his shirt on fire when they were trying to stay warm. I kept the nicest set for myself and sold the other 2 sets. Did you get your set on ebay also?

I got my set from an ebay dealer. It wasnt from the soldier himself. My set is the one with the burn holes. w00t.gif Now I know how they got there.

Got myself a new DCU. Its named to 82nd AB Specialist Ezo on the label, and EZO is also pressed in the fabric where the name tape once was.

This is an obscure Long Range Surveillance Unit, the exact unit escapes me at the moment:

dscn2444xp3.jpg

Looks like the shoulder patch of the 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (formerly the 201st Military Intelligence Brigade). Very nice find! thumbsup.gif
