empireguns Posted August 8, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted August 8, 2014 well I did not realize it then, but it was stuck inside a commissioning folder off the USS Belknap 1980.This one being cloth might have been new old stock or the original pennant. She was recommissioned after being rebuilt from its collision with the USS Kennedy. Nice little set
Josh B. Posted August 23, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 23, 2014 As Steve mentioned, this is an older one. Definitely not 1980's. Maybe someone acquired an older one and put it together with the commissioning folder as a gift.
empireguns Posted August 24, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted August 24, 2014 well this officer was at the commissioning, Since the navy often has stored items for long periods of time, many ww2 items were showing up in Korea, early Vietnam, I think they just used one off the shelf. Anyone see the Counting Cars episode where they made a USS Belknap motorcycle? brought the captain back and eveything.
