.75mm artillery shell trench art lamp

Last weekend acquired then rewired a W.W. I .75mm artillery round which had been converted into a lamp. Topped it with a helmet shell that I had for a shade. I really like it. Notice that the fuse is absent of the typical "ruler marks" on the second band. In fact it ts all smooth generally except for some lot number stampings on the bottom band. I am thinking two things, one is that the fuse was ever slightly turned down on a lathe (seem to be fine lines going around it) for some reason (deactivation?), the other is perhaps there was some other model fuse which only detonated on impact and this is one of those. I would love to hear if anyone knows about this or has seen similar examples. Thanks
